Small Stone, January 23

The paper says he is survived
by a "devoted friend."

This is like the opposite
of found poetry.

A found-lie, there in print,
on the newstand

Next to where he, brave in the
face of shock and grief

Nonetheless hugs me, and says,
"It's good to see you, hon --"

And it's not hard to see why
his late husband loved him.

This is so sad. You once said you weren't a poet, but you are. So much said in so few lines.

Do you ever post any of your 'small stones' on the River of Stones blog?

Scroll down and read on the right of the page and there is a place to post the day's writing.
